A 1996: Provides for apportionment for charter school tuition payments for any school district that is required to pay tuition to charter schools in the two thousand twenty-five-two thousand twenty-six school year and thereafter.
The bill aims to provide financial assistance to school districts that pay tuition to charter schools. School districts that are required to pay charter school tuition are eligible for an apportionment under this law. Each eligible school district must submit the total amount of charter school tuition paid in the previous year to the commissioner. The apportionment for charter school payments is calculated as the positive difference between the amount of tuition paid in the previous year and the amount paid in the current year. This assistance is intended to help school districts manage the financial burden of paying charter school tuition.
