What A 2035 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to certify certain professionals as emergency service technicians to provide medical services in rural areas. It allows certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians who have demonstrated competence and completed continuing education to become certified as emergency service technicians or paramedics. These certified professionals must have a curriculum vitae, experience, and certifications, and a priority is given to those who are independently licensed and can prescribe medications. The certification process will be developed in consultation with the state emergency medical services council, and the certification will take effect immediately.
