What A 2098 does, verified December 9, 2025
The bill aims to amend the election law in New York to prohibit early voting on federal holidays. It would add an extra day to the early voting period if a federal holiday falls within the existing early voting period. The board of elections would establish procedures to prevent voters from casting ballots both during the early voting period and in the same election. The changes would take effect on the same date as the reversion of subdivision 1 of section 8-600 of the election law.
