The bill proposes to amend the New York City charter to prohibit the city board of elections from entering into contracts with entities that do not employ union labor for specific election-related activities. This includes preparation, design, printing, mailing, distribution, delivery, processing, or counting of ballots and related materials. The new rule aims to ensure that union labor is used for these tasks, effectively banning non-union entities from providing these services to the city board of elections.
