What A 221 does, verified January 11, 2026

The proposed law aims to protect individuals from intentional intrusion into their private affairs or solitude. A person can file a lawsuit against another person who intentionally intrudes on their private life, causing a reasonable person to feel highly offended. The court may award injunctive relief, punitive damages, compensatory damages, and reasonable court costs and attorney's fees. Liability for violating this law does not depend on whether the person's private life was made public. The law will take effect 90 days after it becomes a law.
