What A 2218 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to amend the Social Services Law to prohibit requiring parents or caretakers to earn a minimum wage to be eligible for child care assistance. The proposed change will eliminate this requirement, making it easier for eligible families to access child care services. The amendment will take effect immediately, allowing families to receive child care assistance without the need to meet a minimum wage requirement.
