A 2265: Relates to the establishment of a waiver for child care learning pods; provides that unlicensed and unregulated child care learning pods may operate if there are otherwise no violations of laws or codes, rules, and regulations of New York and such child care learning pod is compliant with the local laws, codes, rules, and regulations of such local municipality in which they are located and operated; provides for civil penalty for violations.
The bill aims to establish a waiver for child care learning pods, which are unlicensed and unregulated child care providers. These pods can operate if they comply with local laws and regulations. To obtain a waiver, the operator and parent/guardian of each child must submit a uniform waiver form, which includes information such as the operator's and parent's contact details, the location, days and hours of operation, and the number of children attending. The waiver form must be signed by both the operator and parent/guardian. The office of children and family services will be responsible for establishing and publishing the waiver form on its public website. Violations of the waiver requirements may result in civil penalties, ranging from one thousand to two thousand dollars.
