The bill aims to repeal a provision in the criminal procedure law that allows a defendant to request access to a crime scene or other relevant premises. This provision, currently in effect, requires a court order to grant access to the defendant. The repeal of this provision will remove the requirement for a court order, allowing law enforcement to limit or deny access to crime scenes and other relevant premises as needed.
