Assembly BillIntroduced
A 2545: Increases foundation aid for school districts that meet five variables impacting academic success: free or reduced lunch, English language learners, wealth ratio, enrollment, special education, and being located in a high wealth ratio county.
What A 2545 does, verified June 2, 2026
The bill aims to increase foundation aid to school districts in high-wealth ratio counties that meet specific criteria. These districts must have a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, a significant number of English language learners, a high combined wealth ratio, an increase in enrollment, and a high percentage of students with special education needs. The bill ensures that the increased aid does not reduce the amount of foundation aid to districts that do not meet these criteria. The bill takes effect immediately.
