BARRETT -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Labor AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to requiring contractors and subcontractors performing construction work for covered renewable energy systems to use apprenticeship agreements The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 8 of section 224-d of the labor law, as added 2 by chapter 375 of the laws of 2022, is amended to read as follows: 3 8. Any [thermal energy network] covered renewable energy system 4 covered by this section shall require all contractors and subcontractors 5 performing construction work to use apprenticeship agreements, as 6 defined by article twenty-three of this chapter, with pre-apprenticeship 7 direct entry providers registered with the department. 8 § 2.
