A 287: Relates to curb repair in the city of New York.
The proposed bill aims to improve the maintenance of curbs in New York City. All new curbs installed must meet specific material, dimension, and construction requirements, as specified by the city's department of transportation. Homeowners can request curb and curb cut repairs through the city's 311 website, and the department must complete the repairs within a reasonable amount of time, defined as 90 days. If the repairs are not completed within this timeframe, the homeowner can have the repairs done by a licensed contractor and receive a property tax credit for the reasonable cost of the repair.
