What A 3024 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to establish a student fare program for trains and buses in cities with a population of one million or more. The program would provide students who attend kindergarten through twelfth grade and live more than half a mile from their school with a reduced fare for train and/or bus travel. The reduced fare would be equivalent to three standard pay-per-ride fares, with the difference paid by the student. The law would take effect on the first day of July next year.
