What A 3131 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law allows parents or guardians to view footage captured by an interior school bus camera under certain circumstances. A school board must adopt policies to enable viewing of the footage, which must be done under the supervision of a director of schools, school principal, or school official. The policies must comply with state regulations and federal privacy laws. The law requires schools to establish a process for requesting access to view the footage, and it takes effect immediately.
