What A 3336 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to prevent recurring campaign donations without the explicit consent of the contributor. A candidate, committee, or entity cannot solicit or accept recurring contributions from a person unless they provide affirmative consent at the time of the initial contribution. This means that simply failing to uncheck a pre-checked box is not considered sufficient consent. The law also requires that: * A receipt be provided to the contributor within three days of receiving the initial contribution, clearly disclosing all terms of the recurring contribution. * Necessary information be given to cancel the recurring contribution in each communication with the contributor. * The recurring contribution be immediately canceled upon request from the contributor.
