A 4043: Prohibits an airport operator or aviation retail establishment from selling, distributing, or otherwise making available leaded aviation gasoline to consumers on or after January first, two thousand thirty-one.
The bill aims to prohibit the sale, distribution, or availability of leaded aviation gasoline in the state. Leaded aviation gasoline is defined as the same as in the US Code, and the term "aviation retail establishment" refers to any entity selling or offering aviation gasoline to customers. The ban on leaded aviation gasoline will take effect on January 1, 2021. However, airports subject to federal grants will be exempt from this provision until the grant expires. The bill also states that any provision conflicting with federal grants in effect before December 31, 2020, will not apply to airports subject to such grants until the grant expires.
