What A 4072 does, verified January 8, 2026

The Responsible Neighborhood Preservation Act aims to encourage responsible operation of licensed premises and mitigate adverse impacts on the community. It requires law enforcement responses at a licensed premise to be counted only once per calendar month, rather than separately for each day. If a licensed premise requires a law enforcement response more than three times in a calendar month, its closing hours will be adjusted to no later than midnight on all days of the week for a period of at least six months. The state liquor authority will promulgate rules and regulations for enforcing this section, including documenting and verifying law enforcement responses and a process for licensed premises to appeal closing hour adjustments. The act also includes a severability clause, stating that if any provision is deemed invalid, it will not affect the remainder of the act.
