A 4128: Permits funeral directors to sell insurance.
What A 4128 does, verified January 8, 2026
The proposed law allows funeral establishments to sell insurance policies to their clients. Funeral directors can now be licensed to sell insurance under the existing insurance law. The law prohibits funeral directors from selling insurance policies that are specifically marketed for funeral or burial expenses, unless they have a license to do so. Funeral directors can accept a limited amount of compensation from insurers or agents for administrative services provided. This change takes effect immediately.
