Assembly BillIntroduced
A 4182: Exempts registered security guards with a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in criminal justice or an equivalent from annual in service-training courses.
What A 4182 does, verified January 11, 2026
The proposed legislation aims to exempt certain security guards from annual in-service training courses. Currently, security guards are required to complete training courses to maintain their registration. The new exemption would apply to security guards who hold a bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice or a related field. This exemption would allow these security guards to continue working without the requirement of annual training courses. The changes would take effect immediately.
