A 4193: Provides for school district employees who have been provisionally appointed to a position for at least nine months without an exam being offered for such position to receive a permanent appointment in such position.
The proposed law aims to provide permanent appointments to school district employees who have been provisionally appointed for at least nine months without a civil service examination. The law would amend the civil service law to exempt provisional appointments in school districts from certain provisions, allowing them to remain in place without expiring. Provisional appointees would be considered permanently appointed if no civil service examination has been conducted within nine months of their appointment. The law would take effect immediately, providing a new standard for school district employees.
