What A 444 does, verified May 21, 2026
The proposed legislation aims to expand New York State's human rights law to protect remote workers who reside outside the state. This law would apply to employers with a physical address in New York and to employees, regardless of where they work. The law would provide protections to out-of-state employees who perform work in New York, similar to those already provided to in-state employees. The law would take effect immediately upon its passage.
