A 4531: Eliminates daylight savings time.
The bill aims to eliminate daylight saving time in New York. The state will adopt standard time that is one hour behind the standard time of the 75th meridian of longitude west from Greenwich, starting from the last Sunday in April and ending on the last Sunday in October. This change will apply to all courts, public officers, and official proceedings. The state will also exempt itself from the Uniform Time Act of 1966, which establishes daylight saving time. Additionally, the city of New York's Administrative Code, Section 2-106, will be repealed. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2028.
