What A 4616 does, verified January 8, 2026

The state aid for certain state lands in the town of New Hudson, in the county of Allegany, will be recalculated based on the assessment rolls of the land's previous owners. The aid will be paid to the municipal corporation or special district that previously owned the land, if the land was transferred to the state or a state agency due to the nuclear fuel services, inc. or the town of New Hudson. The state aid will be computed and paid annually, starting from the first fiscal year after January 1, 1981, and will be equal to the amount of taxes levied on the land and improvements prior to the transfer. The aid will be adjusted for any changes in assessment, but will not be less than the assessment roll completed in 1980. The act will take effect immediately, and the first payment of state aid will be based on assessment rolls completed in 2024.
