What A 4673 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to provide benefits to certain emergency personnel diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It expands the definition of "in the line of duty" to include PTSD, making it presumptively compensable. To qualify for benefits, the PTSD must be diagnosed within three years of the person's last active employment as an emergency responder. The bill takes effect immediately, allowing eligible personnel to receive benefits under the existing workers' compensation law.
