What A 4695 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to require not-for-profit corporations to have a board of directors that reflects the ethnic demographics of the communities they serve. The law would prevent these corporations from accepting state funds unless their boards consist of directors that accurately represent the communities they serve. This requirement would help ensure that not-for-profit corporations are accountable to the communities they serve and are more representative of the diverse populations they aim to help.
