What A 5057 does, verified January 9, 2026

The proposed law aims to enable public authorities to transmit electronic notifications to e-ZPass customers. If an authority offers electronic payment methods, such as e-ZPass, it cannot impose periodic administrative charges for using these methods. Customers who have opted-in for e-ZPass notifications will receive alerts via email, text message, or mobile application when their account is registered or if there are any transactions. Customers can opt-out of receiving these notifications at any time and may be required to confirm participation. The law will take effect sixty days after it becomes law.
