What A 522 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to amend the Public Officers Law to make agency records available to the public prior to or at an open meeting. Agency records, including proposed resolutions, laws, rules, regulations, policies, and amendments, must be made available upon request at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. The records can be made available in a digital format, such as a website, if the agency has a regularly updated website and high-speed internet connection. Agencies are not required to expend additional funds to implement this provision.
