Assembly BillIntroduced
A 5258: Disallows county industrial development agencies from offering incentives in municipalities which have their own industrial development agency.
What A 5258 does, verified June 11, 2026
The bill aims to restrict county industrial development agencies from offering incentives to municipalities that already have their own industrial development agency. This restriction includes various types of incentives such as financial assistance, tax incentives, and funding. The bill prohibits these incentives from being offered in municipalities that have their own agency, effectively limiting the ability of county agencies to provide these benefits to certain municipalities. The proposed law would take effect two years after it becomes a law.
