The bill aims to regulate live restraint cable devices used to take wildlife, particularly coyotes. It prohibits the use of certain types of traps, including leg-gripping traps and snares. However, the department may authorize the use of live restraint cable devices for coyote and other species under specific regulations. These regulations require the use of devices with at least one swivel, a relaxing lock, a deer stop, and a break away device. The bill takes effect immediately and expires on February 16, 2028, requiring the department to review and repeal its regulations after this period.
