What A 586 does, verified January 9, 2026

The bill aims to amend the election law to regulate campaign contributions. Currently, if a contribution is attributed to a limited liability company, it is attributed to the company as a whole, regardless of the ownership interest of its members. This bill would require campaign contributions exceeding $25,000 to be further attributed to each member of the limited liability company in proportion to their ownership interest. The changes would take effect immediately.
