Assembly BillIntroduced
A 5933: Allows poll workers to be from any political party.
What A 5933 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to allow poll workers to be from any political party, rather than being limited to one party. In each election district, appointments to the offices of election inspector or poll clerk will be equally divided between major political parties. If a major party does not have enough qualified applicants, the remaining positions will be filled by non-party affiliated applicants to ensure the least number of election inspectors or poll clerks are appointed in each district. The bill will take effect on January 1, the day it becomes a law, and allows for the immediate implementation of necessary rules and regulations.
