What A 6042 does, verified January 9, 2026

The bill aims to expand the definition of interactive fantasy sports operators in New York State. This expansion allows additional operators to offer contests to New York residents, subject to approval by the gaming commission. These operators must meet all the requirements outlined in the Racing, Pari-Mutuel Wagering, and Breeding Law. A temporary permit is issued to these operators, which is deemed effective as soon as they begin offering contests in the state. The permit holder must remit the required tax within 30 days. The bill also clarifies the definition of an "interactive fantasy sports contest" and states that the law will take effect immediately.
