A 6057: Removes the provision that an immediate family member needs to be domiciled in the house of the license or permit holder for the purpose of commercial fishing license transfers.
What A 6057 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to expand the definition of "immediate family" for purposes of environmental regulations. The new definition includes not only immediate relatives such as spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent, and grandchild, but also other persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption who are domiciled in the same residence as the individual holding a license or permit. This change is intended to provide greater protection and support for individuals with immediate family members who are also affected by environmental regulations. The bill takes effect immediately and applies to any license or permit reissued on or after the effective date.
