The screenings must use an evidence-based program with proven psychometrics for validity and be efficient and low-cost. If a child is identified as having dyslexia, the school district must provide small group instruction in multi-sensory sequential phonics or another approved curriculum to support their learning. The intervention services must be provided in addition to any other instruction. The bill takes effect immediately.
