New York · Assembly · 2025–2026 Legislative Session · last verified January 8, 2026

What A 6406 does, verified January 8, 2026

The Long Island Rail Road weekend reduced fare program will no longer exclude individuals traveling from East New York Station to another location within New York City or vice versa. All trips included in the program will receive the same reduced fare regardless of starting and ending points. This change aims to ensure that passengers traveling to and from locations within New York City do not forfeit their enjoyment of the reduced fare because their train passes through Nassau County. The revised program will take effect on the first day of the year following the bill's enactment.
