Assembly BillIntroduced
A 6965: Removes requirements that a parent, guardian or person and the minor remain at ground level at all times while deer hunting.
What A 6965 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill aims to amend the environmental conservation law to allow parents, guardians, or licensed individuals to supervise minors while deer hunting. Currently, the law requires parents, guardians, or licensed individuals to remain at ground level with the minor at all times. The proposed amendment allows for a more flexible approach, where the individual must maintain physical control over the minor, including being able to issue verbal directions, maintain visual contact, and provide guidance and supervision. The changes will take effect immediately, but the amendments will be repealed along with the original section that was repealed.
