A 7018: Allows statements by police officers to be evidence of sex trafficking.
What A 7018 does, verified January 10, 2026
The proposed law aims to allow written or oral statements made by police officers in grand jury proceedings involving sex trafficking offenses to be used as evidence. This change will enable the use of statements that might have previously been excluded due to concerns about their reliability. The law will take effect 30 days after it becomes a law, allowing for a gradual implementation of the new rule.
