What A 7197 does, verified January 8, 2026
The proposed legislation allows state and local government entities to make rules and regulations to implement a new law on its effective date, without needing to wait for a specific time. This action can be taken immediately, but it must be reasonable and follow applicable laws. The legislation also clarifies that amendments to laws that are set to be repealed or lose force and effect on a certain date do not affect the repeal or loss of force and effect, unless the law provides otherwise.
