A 7287: Authorizes the assistant court clerk and fire marshal of the town of Harrison, county of Westchester, to be nonresidents of such town.
The bill proposes to amend the Town Law and the Public Officers Law to allow the assistant court clerk and fire marshal of the Town of Harrison, County of Westchester, to be non-residents of the town. In the Town of Harrison, a person performing the function of assistant court clerk or fire marshal does not need to be an elector of the town. However, in other towns, the person performing the function of assistant court clerk or fire marshal must be an elector of the town, unless otherwise provided by state law. The bill also clarifies that a person performing the function of assistant court clerk or fire marshal in the Town of Harrison must reside in a town within the County of Westchester, but not necessarily in the Town of Harrison itself.
