STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7452 2025-2026 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY March 28, 2025 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. DiPIETRO -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Boston Fire Company Fallen Firefight- ers Memorial Bridge" The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 342-aaa 2 to read as follows: 3 § 342-aaa. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the 4 "Boston Fire Company Fallen Firefighters Memorial Bridge". The bridge 5 on Rice Hill Road, in the town of Boston, county of Erie, crossing over 6 state route two hundred nineteen, shall be designated and known as the 7 "Boston Fire Company Fallen Firefighters Memorial Bridge". 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid 11 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- 12 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of 13 ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall not be 14 changed as a result of this act. 15 § 3.
