A 7537: Enacts the "responsible renewable energy recycling act" to require manufacturers of solar panels, wind turbines, and batteries to collect such materials when they are taken out of use; requires educational outreach relating thereto; establishes collection goals therefor; requires reporting of collection efforts.
The bill establishes a program for the collection, transportation, and recycling of out-of-service solar panels, wind turbines, and batteries. The program requires solar panel manufacturers to establish and maintain a collection system, which includes compiling a list of wholesalers, conducting education and outreach efforts, and providing educational materials to consumers. The program also requires wholesalers and retailers to participate in the collection and recycling of out-of-service solar panels. Manufacturers that fail to participate must receive a waiver from the department. The program aims to promote the responsible recycling of out-of-service solar panels and reduce hazardous waste. Annual reports are required from participating manufacturers to track progress and provide feedback to the department.<br>The bill requires wind turbine manufacturers to establish and maintain a…
