A 7587: Requires compliance with the city's uniform land use review procedure.
The proposed legislation aims to amend the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Act to ensure compliance with the city's uniform land use review procedure when disposing of land or buildings. The corporation will be required to follow a public hearing process after 20 days of public notice and obtain the consent of the Board of Estimate before selling, leasing, or transferring any health facility or property. If the corporation determines that a property is no longer required for its corporate purposes, it may surrender its use and occupancy to the city or sell, lease, or otherwise dispose of the property at a public or private sale. The proceeds from the sale or other disposition will be used for the corporation's corporate purposes. The proposed changes will take effect 180 days after the bill becomes a law.
