What A 7596 does, verified January 9, 2026

The proposed legislation aims to improve the working conditions of child welfare personnel by implementing a limitation on the number of cases they can handle. This limitation will prevent any foster care worker from supervising more than sixteen cases at any given time. The law will take effect sixty days after it is passed, allowing for a transition period to implement the new regulation. The goal is to ensure that child welfare personnel can provide adequate care and support to the children in their supervision.
