Assembly BillIntroduced
A 7728: Permits the standard utility interconnection of sub-transmission lines for particular projects.
What A 7728 does, verified January 10, 2026
The proposed law aims to allow distributed energy sources to connect to the grid at the sub-transmission level. This change would permit various forms of energy considered distributed generation to interconnect with the utility's distribution system at the sub-transmission level, as long as the generator meets all relevant state and federal requirements. The process for such interconnections would follow the same procedures as those at the transmission level. The law would take effect immediately, allowing for the standard utility interconnection of sub-transmission lines for specific projects.
