A 8219: Allows up to seven excess continuing education credit hours for real estate brokers and real estate salespersons to be carried forward to the next two-year licensing period.
The bill aims to amend the real property law to allow real estate brokers and salespersons to carry forward excess continuing education credit hours to the next two-year licensing period. The state will establish rules for the method, content, and supervision of continuing education courses, considering the type of brokerage and availability of course sources in different areas. Each course must have a curriculum composed primarily of real estate practice and professional responsibility, and be taught by a qualified faculty with attorneys presenting legal subjects. Credit will be awarded based on actual attendance, and records will be maintained and transmitted to the department.
