What A 8578 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to increase the capacity needed to be considered a bottle club in New York. Currently, a place with a capacity of 21 or more people can only allow individuals to consume alcohol if they have an appropriate license. However, the proposed law does not restrict the leasing or use of such places by certain organizations or clubs. The law takes effect immediately, allowing for the increase in capacity for establishments that meet specific requirements.
