What A 947 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to improve the management of the Veterans' Home Assistance Fund and the Military Family Relief Fund. It requires the Commissioner of Veterans' Services to submit an annual report to the public, detailing how the funds were utilized during the previous year. The report should include information on the amount of money dispersed, recipients, purposes of the awards, and a summary financial plan for the current and future years. This will increase transparency and accountability in the allocation of funds. The bill also makes changes to the state finance law to streamline the process of disbursing funds from these two funds.
