What J 77 does, verified January 15, 2025

This resolution memorializes Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim April 21, 2025, as Acute Myeloid Leukemia Day in New York State. Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a rare and aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It is the most common form of acute leukemia in adults, caused by abnormal production of blood cells in the bone marrow due to genetic changes. AML can lead to shortness of breath, bruising, fever, weakness, and infection, and can spread to parts of the body if left untreated. The resolution aims to increase awareness of this serious health condition and promote activity at the local, state, and national levels to address AML.
