What K 213 does, verified March 23, 2025

The proposed resolution aims to recognize the crucial role of transit employees in connecting communities and ensuring safe travel. Transit employees, including bus drivers, railway conductors, and various support staff, work tirelessly to keep public transit running, often under challenging conditions. Their contributions are essential, and they serve as frontline workers during emergencies. To honor their efforts, the resolution proposes designating March 18 as Transit Employee Appreciation Day in the state. This day is chosen because it coincides with the opening of the first public bus line in Paris in 1662. The resolution seeks to acknowledge the indispensable contributions of all transit employees in the state.
