What S 10666 does, verified August 16, 2026

This bill amends the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law to designate the Nature Center at Rockland Lake State Park as the "Lauren Shields Nature Center" in honor of organ donation advocate Lauren Shields. The legislation requires the Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to install and maintain signage for the center that includes the dedication to Lauren Shields and provides information about organ donation. To prevent confusion, the bill specifies that this dedication is ceremonial and does not change the official name of the center. The act takes effect immediately upon passage.
