What S 121 does, verified January 8, 2026

The bill aims to increase the amount of income property owners can earn before losing eligibility for the property tax exemption for persons sixty-five years of age or over. The exemption threshold is currently three thousand dollars, but the proposed change would allow property owners to keep their exemption as long as they earn less than seventy-five thousand dollars. This change is intended to provide more financial security for seniors who own property. The bill would take effect immediately.
